Mark Batterson is the lead pastor at National Community Church in Washington DC. Starting with a core group of 19 people, NCC has morphed into a church with multiple locations in various movie theaters and metro stops throughout the area and was recognized as one of the 25 Most Innovative Churches in America by Outreach Magazine. Mark went to the University of Chicago on a basketball scholarship and majored in pre-law. After a prayer walk through a cow pasture in 1989, he felt called to full-time ministry and ended up at Central Bible College. Mark currently holds two master’s degrees from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in Chicago, IL. Mark lives to encourage believers to embrace the Christian life as the life’s greatest adventure. His speaking topics and books reflect his passion and include the best-selling, In a Pit with a Lion on a Snowy Day and his latest release, Primal. Mark is also a daily blogger: evotional.com.
